Detailed Narrative Description of Project

The project supports development and implementation of the new green economic approaches and practices in tourism, livestock and fruit and vegetables in Kyrgyzstan. These sectors are part of the National Export Plan and are characterized with high potential for employment and income generation and promotion of green economic practices and approaches in the country. The project aims to create long-term employment and better income opportunities with special attention to employment for young people, women, people with disabilities and members of ethnic minorities.

The project strengthens the partner system at all three levels:

Macro: Implementation of green policy approaches;

Meso: Provision of services and other support for MSMEs;

Micro: Customer’s awareness raising for creating demand and incentives for the private sector to shift to green and sustainable business practices.

Environmental issues, such as resource efficiency, climate protection; food safety, waste management and social inclusion are within the focus of the project. Priority regions for the implementation of the project are Osh and Issyk-Kul.Addressing the establishment of sustainable economy in Kyrgyzstan, the project supports the promotion of the green economy principles.

Detailed Narrative Description of Services provided

In the context of the project the Consultant  performs the following tasks:

1. Development and optimization of the proposed methodology:

  • Desk study of the project documents;
  • Interview with the project experts;
  • Adjusting and revising proposed questionnaires and hypotheses;
  • Submitting inception report for approval of methodology and tools.

 2. Data collection:

  • Data collection/survey among partners and beneficiaries and non-project farmers (tourism, fruits, vegetables and rice);
  • Data processing and analysis;
  • Submitting first draft of the analytical report for review;
  • Submitting final report.
