Detailed Narrative Description of Project

As part of the projects, a series of training sessions planned for members of the PSF on the cultivation of forage crops, mainly using the Integrated Production Management (IEP) approach and the Field Farmer School (PFS), which also includes a training program with practical exercises, and enhanced field consultations practical exercises, on a long-term basis throughout the season, for example, during the preparation of the land and sowing, periods of growth, flowering and harvesting. In addition to agricultural technologies for growing feed crops, training programs should include training activities on business planning, marketing and economic analysis for the further sustainability of the OSF, as well as all aspects of production and post-harvest processing. It is expected that about 4 trainings were conducted during the growing season.

The training program included conducting soil sampling for chemical and biological soil analysis at the Specialized Toxicology Control Laboratory and / or the Soil Agrochemical Station in order to obtain recommendations for improving soil fertility.

Detailed Narrative Description of Services provided
  • Compiled a thematic training plan for members of the Public Seed Fund (PSF) and chairmen of the JK, approved by National Association of Pasture Users of Kyrgyzstan and PIU;   
  • Conducted training in each PSF;                                                                                     
  • Brochures on feed crops and business planning have been prepared and distributed;           
  • Upon completion of training, 80% of the members of the PSF in practice apply their knowledge; 
  • Obtained results of soil analysis of PSF with recommendations for improving fertility.
