Detailed Narrative Description of Project

The Bank conducts annual seminars in the municipal infrastructure sector covering existing and potential municipal clients in the ETC region. To date topics have covered public transport (Batumi 2012), water (Bishkek 2013), solid waste (Tsakhkadzor 2014), sustainable municipal services (Tbilisi 2015), water sector (Issik-Kul 2016) and regional water seminar (Minsk 2017).

Detailed Narrative Description of Services provided

This year’s seminar (“Seminar“) will focus on two topics:

  1. Strengthening of water, utilities, municipalities and water sector professionals to integrate climate change adaptation measures in policy,

investment planning and project design, and

  1. Efficient implementation of climate resilience projects by water companies. The Seminar will provide a unique opportunity to disseminate experience to date, integrate this experience into projects under preparation, and thereby strengthen sector development.

There are two objectives of this assignment:

  1. To carry out a Seminar focussed on disseminating information on how to improve the quality of the preparation, execution and implementation of climate change related water and wastewater projects and integrated sector reform objectives, by means of a well-structured event for a group of key decision-makers and managers.

2. To evaluate the level of awareness of climate change issues and level of engagement in water supply issues of the public in the municipalities targeted by the project “Increasing Climate Resilience through Drinking Water Rehabilitation in North Tajikistan”.
