CAIConsulting organized a meeting with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Osh, as part of further implementation of the project "Modernisation of the electric public transport system of the Osh city"

At the meeting with representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in the Osh city it was discussed the further implementation plan of the project "Modernisation of the electric public transport system  of the Osh city".  On 20 June, a meeting was held between the First Deputy Mayor of Osh, Mars Isayev, and EBRD representatives.

At this meeting, the issues related to the implementation of the project "Modernisation of electric public transport system of the Osh city" were discussed. Special attention was paid to the results of technical and economic evaluation of this project, which was carried out by specialists of Atkins consulting company from Great Britain together with CAIConsulting.

In his welcoming speech, Mars Isaev noted the long-standing partnership with the EBRD and its significance for achieving important goals aimed at improving the lives of citizens. He stressed that the project "Modernisation of the electric public transport system in Osh city" provides for the creation of environmentally friendly infrastructure of municipal electric public transport. Within the framework of this project it is planned to build trolleybus infrastructure, purchase up to 50 electric buses and up to 20 trolleybuses, as well as deployment of charging stations for electric buses on the basis of the Osh City Municipal Automobile Enterprise.

The EBRD representative, Nurgul Kudranova, in the Infrastructure Department, shared that the consultants, after analyses, recommended a combined approach in the next phase of project implementation. This approach involves the procurement of 19 electric buses and 37 battery-powered trolleybuses.

The meeting also included a presentation showing the results of the analyses performed by the consultants from Atkins and CAIConsulting. Following the meeting, it was agreed that the option proposed by Atkins and CAIConsulting would be studied in more detail.
