On May 28, 2019, a solemn ceremony was held to transfer special equipment purchased under the project “Improving water supply and sanitation in Kara-Suu”, funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank and the European Union.
5 units of special equipment were transferred to Kara-Suu Vodokanal, including an excavator, a vacuum truck, a dump truck, a pickup truck and special equipment for repairs. The purchase of this special equipment is the first step in improving the water supply and sewerage system in Kara-Suu. Also within the framework of the Project, it is planned to replace water pipes in Kara-Suu, build wastewater treatment plants, repair the Vodokanal administrative building, repair chlorination plant, and other activities aimed at improving the quality of drinking water and the environmental situation in Kara-Suu.
Mayor of Kara-Suu Kutugali Kozubayev, akim of Kara-Suu district Tilek Matraimov, EU Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Eduard Auer and EBRD Director for Central Asia Neil McCain took part in the ceremony of handing over special equipment. The meeting participants noted the fruitful results of cooperation between international donors and the Kyrgyz Republic.
