Detailed Narrative Description of Project | The project aimed to support the development of ecosystem approach to improve land management in areas where the pilot forestry enterprises are located, including forested lands, pastures and degraded or marginal lands. The global goal was to strengthen the capacity of government institutions and communities to improve the sustainable management of forest ecosystems through investments in management planning, ecosystem restoration and infrastructure.
The project consisted of four main components:
Component 1: Forestry Institutional Reform. Component 2: Strategic investments and testing of sustainable management approaches. Component 3: Data collection, monitoring and evaluation. Component 4: Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation. |
Detailed Narrative Description of Services provided | Within the framework of the project the following tasks were carried out:
- Desk research, development of research methodology, including a detailed work plan and schedule for data collection and processing activities.
- Development of quantitative and qualitative survey tools, including questionnaires, detailed assessment guides (interviews, focus groups, case studies, etc.).
- Organization of field works (surveys, focus group discussions) in 13 pilot forestry enterprises and 6 pilot municipalities, covering local communities.
- Data collection on project assessment for all indicators among pilot forestry enterprises and municipalities, experts, specialists and other stakeholders, including project beneficiaries.
- Assessing the effectiveness of the Project activities for pilot and non-pilot forestry enterprises, pilot municipalities and other stakeholders
- Assessing satisfaction level among socially vulnerable households that received seedlings;
- Conducting a satisfaction assessment of citizens involved in natural resources planning and management.
- Conducting an assessment of the area of forest plantations planted under the Project, including the survival rate of forest crops, orchards and fast-growing plantations.
- Conducting environmental assessment of forests in pilot forestry enterprises and assess the effectiveness of project activities to improve the environment and regenerate forest ecosystems.
- Determining the number of forestry enterprises (pilot and non-pilot) using FMIS.
- Preparation of analytical report based on the results of the study of project activities with conclusions and recommendations.
