Detailed Narrative Description of Project	The global objective of this project was to assist to further development of the regulatory system in the area of fishery of the Republic of Kazakhstan in line with the WTO requirements. The specific objective of this project was to assist in the development of the Draft Law on Fish Farming and Regulation of Fish Resources
Detailed Narrative Description of Services provided	The Project inception phase was 2 months. During this period the project infrastructure was created, the necessary organizational analysis was carried out, respective strategy as well as the development concept was worked out, and, possibly, additions/amendments were introduced into the Terms of Reference. Over the subsequent 7 months of implementation, the following activities were carried out. - Carry out comparative analysis of the legislation and documentation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a number of developed countries on sustainable use of fish resources; - Development of the Draft Law on Fish-Farming and Regulation of Fish Resources, and sending it to all the parties concerned; - Holding a seminar to discuss the Draft Law with the participation of the Fishery Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture the Republic of Kazakhstan, scientific organisations, fishery companies and NGOs; - Introduction of amendments and additions into the Draft Law; - Submission of the Draft Law to the Fishery Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan for it to be agreed upon with other concerned ministries and agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan
