The National Community Initiative Project (NCIP) aims to improve access to climate-resilient socio-economic infrastructure and expand economic opportunities for women and youth in target communities. The project is being implemented by the Community Development and Investment Agency (ARIS) and will be presented in 40 Aiyl Aimaks across the country.
The baseline study was conducted in October-November 2025. The main objective of the study was to facilitate the monitoring and evaluation of the NCIP prior to the implementation of the project interventions.
During the study, 3,220 face-to-face interviews were conducted in households in 116 target and 111 control villages in 70 Aiyl Aimaks. Interviews were also conducted with 140 representatives of Aiyl Okmotu and Aiyl Kenesh.
The study included questions about village infrastructure, existing problems in villages, the socio-economic situation of households, social cohesion and citizen involvement in decision-making on village issues.
