National Strategy for Development of Statistics is a project financed by the World Bank. The project aims at improving the quality, sustainability and efficiency of the Tajik National Statistical System. It envisages building and enhancing the professional capacity of the Agency on Statistics of Tajikistan. Moreover, NSDS focuses on strengthening institutional capacity of the statistical agency and the National Statistical System, developing production of statistical data, improving user producer dialog, strengthening physical infrastructure, IT and automation of data processing.

In the framework of the project established the Twinning Partnership. The main objective of this Twinning Partnership is to assist the Agency on Statistics of Tajikistan in the implementation of the project through the provision of advisory services, training, surveys, monitoring and evaluation of the achievements for further capacity-building of the statistical system of Tajikistan in the preparation and dissemination of relevant, reliable and timely statistical data based on cost-effectively manner which comply with international standards and meet the needs of users.
